Being a mum is amazing, but it’s also crazy challenging.

You know what? You are simply not built to face those challenges alone.

You’re about to experience a lot of changes — physically, emotionally and mentally. As a mum, you’ll be constantly looking after the needs of your children, but who is looking after you?

For you to be the best mum for your children, you need support and self-care.

You need to be well-nourished, well-rested and emotionally supported. You need someone to share with and talk to, maybe a shoulder to cry on and a caring word of encouragement when things get tough (and they will).

That’s exactly what I do! I feel it’s my life’s calling.

I’m passionate about supporting and nourishing pregnant women and mamas through their transition to new motherhood.

I’m a postpartum doula (aka mama nurturer). I’m a nutritionist, massage therapist and yoga teacher, PLUS I’m an experienced birth doula.

What this all means is that I give women (and families) the support and guidance they need to fulfil their dream to have a blissful start with their new babies.

That pretty much makes me your new best friend, right? 😉
Having my expertise and support during your journey means you will get the attention and care you need and you will feel nurtured as a new mother, and that’s exactly what your baby needs.

Who needs a postpartum doula?

Well of course anyone who recognises the huge value (for everyone) in nurturing the mama, but specifically — often my mamas have moved to the Illawarra from Sydney or beyond, have working or absent partners, or don’t want to call on their families for help.

Some of my mamas have lots of help and simply want someone who won’t judge or nag or interfere, just support.

My journey started when I found myself suffering with fertility problems and unable to get pregnant.

Along my way to improving my fertility, I discovered the many benefits of alternate therapies. I felt so drawn to help support other women during this time, that I decided to study and become a qualified nutritionist, massage therapist and yoga teacher.

I’ve always had a strong mothering instinct, but never feeling like I was in the right field of work, I had finally found my passion!

After a couple of years and a miscarriage, I became pregnant with my daughter. I engaged the support of a doula with each of my pregnancies and after experiencing first-hand what a huge difference having a doula made, I decided I wanted to be one too.

I completed my doula certification training when I was pregnant with my third child and began my life as a qualified ‘Mama Nurturer’.

What I began to realise after many years of supporting women and their partners during pregnancy, labour and birth, was that there was a huge gap in the support system for new Mums.

After having my own personal experiences with postpartum depression, I knew the importance of being cared for – physically, emotionally and mentally. When I found out about the support that Ayurvedic Postpartum Doulas provide to new Mums, I just knew it was something I wanted to do!

And so here I am now, and I can’t wait to support you on the most beautiful journey of all.

I live surrounded by the mountains, close to the ocean, with my family in beautiful Woonona and support women and their families across the Wollongong region.

Your warming support has been a valuable asset in all aspects of my motherhood journey. I have enjoyed pregnancy yoga, birthing classes, massages and now mums and bubs yoga. I thank you for getting me this far, your holistic care has allowed me to learn, grow and be confident in my new role.
